With limited space and funding coupled with the desire to educate and classify, the 18th and 19th Century Museums tended to the overwhelming display of objects.Cluttered together comparison was facilitated and storage was minimised.In the absence of photography and with the cost of travel, Museums gave an priviledged view of other worlds. |
